Habitat
A perennial herb or subshrub 60cm high. Flowers all seasons. On village edges, roadside, gardens. Mostly cultivated.
Preparation
Use whole herb. Collect all year round, wash, slice, use fresh or dry under sun.
Properties
Slightly bitter tasting; cool, poisonous. Antineoplastic, hypotensive, tranquilizing.

- 急性淋巴细胞性白血病Acute lymphocytic leukemia
- 高血压病Hypertension
- 糖尿病Diabetes mellitus.
每用3至5钱,水煎服。火烫伤可用鲜叶加米少许,捣烂外敷。Use 9-15gm. Prepare as decoction. Used also in scalds by pounding fresh leaves with rice as poultice.
Prescriptions
- Acute lymphocytic leukemia: Catharanthus roseus 15gm, as decoction.
- Hypertension: Catharanthus roseus 12gm, Siegesbeckia orientalis 9gm, Cassia tora 6gm, Chrysanthemum morifolium 6gm, as decoction.
